Inclusive day counting
This counter includes both endpoint dates: from January 1 through January 31 counts all 31 days. That suits countdowns, project spans, and anything where the first and last day are genuinely part of the period. Weekdays are the Mondays through Fridays inside the range, and weekend days are simply what is left.
Where an inclusive count matters
Rental stays, event durations, and medication schedules usually count both ends, so a Friday-to-Sunday trip is three days. If you need the ruler-style difference instead — where January 1 to January 31 is 30 days — subtract one, or use the date calculator, which offers an include-end-day switch.

Are holidays excluded from the weekday count?
No. Every Monday through Friday is counted regardless of public holidays, which differ by country and region. Subtract the holidays that fall inside your range for a working-day figure.
Why does my two-date difference differ by one day?
Some tools report the elapsed time between midnight of the two dates, which is one less than an inclusive count. A January 1 to January 2 span is one day here because both dates are counted.
