平均数计算器
以下详细说明暂以英文提供。
Mean versus median
The arithmetic mean adds every value and divides by the count — it treats each number equally. The median sorts the list and takes the middle entry, or the average of the two middle entries when the count is even. They agree when the data is symmetric, but a single extreme value drags the mean toward itself while barely moving the median: the mean of 4, 5, 6, 100 is 28.75 while the median is 5.5. Comparing the two rows in the result is a quick way to spot outliers.
常见问题
How many numbers can I average at once?
Paste as many as you like — there is no fixed limit. Values separated by commas, spaces, semicolons, or line breaks all work, so a column copied from a spreadsheet usually pastes correctly as-is.
Do I include zero in an average?
Include it only when zero is a genuine observation of the thing you are measuring. Zeros that mean "no data" pull the average down unfairly, so drop them and let the count reflect real values only.
