How the virtual dice work
Each die maps a uniform random number onto the faces 1 through N, giving every face an equal chance — the same odds as a well-balanced physical die. The average row divides the total by the number of dice, and the range row shows the lowest and highest totals that could appear, handy for sanity-checking a suspicious streak of luck.
Fun things to try
- Roll 3d6 (three six-sided dice) for classic tabletop character stats — totals cluster near 10.5.
- Use a single d100 when a game calls for percentiles.

Are these rolls truly random?
They use the browser’s Math.random, which is a high-quality pseudo-random source — plenty random for games, though not cryptographically secure.
