How to use this calculator

Tap the keys or simply type on your keyboard — digits, operators, and parentheses all work, Enter presses "=", Backspace deletes, and Escape clears everything. The DEG and RAD buttons choose the angle unit for trig functions. After each calculation the expression you used stays in the small line above the result, and the ANS key drops the last answer into a new expression so you can keep chaining steps without retyping numbers.

Order of operations

Evaluations follow the standard conventions: parentheses first, then functions, then factorials and the percent sign, then powers (right-associative, so 2^3^2 means 2^(3^2) = 512), then multiplication and division, and finally addition and subtraction. A minus sign in front of a value is a negation, so −4+8 = 4 and 2^−2 = 0.25. The % key divides the value before it by 100, which is why 50% evaluates to 0.5.

Degrees versus radians

Trig functions read angles in the unit you have selected. In DEG mode sin(90) = 1 and cos(180) = −1; in RAD mode those digits mean radians instead, so you would write sin(π/2). The inverse functions answer in the same unit: asin(1) returns 90 in degree mode and π/2 in radian mode. If a result looks wildly wrong, check the angle unit first — it is by far the most common mix-up.

What does the ANS key do?

ANS stores the result of your last successful calculation. Pressing it types that number into the current expression, which makes multi-step work easy: compute one value, then build the next expression around it without retyping digits.

Why does tan(90) show an error or a huge number?

Tangent is undefined at 90 degrees because cos(90) equals zero there. Calculators approximate that situation with an extremely large value instead of a true infinity. If a tangent suddenly returns something enormous, your angle is probably an exact multiple of 90 degrees in the selected unit.

Can I apply factorial more than once?

Yes. The factorial applies to the value immediately before it, so 5! is 120 and 5!! attempts 120!, which is beyond the supported range (0 to 170) and reports an error instead. The percent key is also postfix: 200×10% means 200 × 0.1.
