How binary arithmetic works
Binary numbers use only the digits 0 and 1, and each place is worth twice the one to its right: 1010 means one eight, no four, one two, no one — ten in decimal. Adding works column by column exactly like school arithmetic, except 1 + 1 makes 10 instead of carrying at ten. This calculator converts your inputs to exact whole numbers, applies the operation, and shows the result in binary alongside its decimal and hexadecimal forms so you can check your work.
अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्न
Why does 1 + 1 come out as 10?
In base 2, the moment a column reaches two it carries: 1 + 1 = 10, which is two in decimal. Just as ten in base 10 is written 10, two in base 2 is written 10.
Can I enter negative numbers?
Enter non-negative whole numbers here; subtracting a larger first number gives a negative result shown with a minus sign in every base.
